Stagnant water bodies pollution

This book compiles the contributions presented during the seminar Stagnant Water Bodies Pollution, held by the Water Research Institute of the University of Barcelona on November 28th, 2011. Designed to offer in-depth insights into often-overlooked water research topics, the seminar gathered experts from various disciplines to examine stagnant water systems from scientific, legal, and economic perspectives.

The volume includes chapters on eutrophication, wastewater pond treatment, oil contamination, golf course ponds, the legal framework of the Great Lakes, and economic approaches to lake and reservoir management. It also expands the analysis with studies on the legal aspects of coastal stagnant waters, wildlife management in urban ponds, and the reuse of treated water to sustain wetland ecosystems in tourism-oriented regions.
