The European ports regulation and its impact on the sector

This volume compiles expert insights from the Barcelona conference held in September 2017 on the impact of Regulation (EU) 2017/352, which introduces a unified framework for the provision of port services and enforces financial transparency across EU ports. Set to be fully applicable from 24 March 2019, the regulation aims to eliminate competitive imbalances within and between TEN-T ports, thereby reinforcing their strategic role in the European single market.

Organised by the Port of Barcelona and sponsored by Ernst & Young Abogados, the event gathered leading academics and professionals to discuss the regulation’s implications on national port systems, covering areas such as service provision, fee structures, public ownership, and organisational models.
